Statement of Faith
We are a Christ-centered, Bible-believing ministry committed to glorifying God through prayer, worship, discipleship, and mission. We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and that Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, is the only Savior and Lord. We affirm that the Bible is God’s inspired and infallible Word, the final authority for faith and practice. We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone, that the Holy Spirit continues to empower believers and distribute spiritual gifts for the building up of the Church, and that all followers of Jesus are called to worship, grow as disciples, and make disciples. We live in hopeful expectation of the return of Jesus Christ, who will establish His kingdom in fullness.
Our values
Our core values flow from our desire to know Jesus Christ, exalt Him as Lord, and make Him known throughout our generation. We believe that lasting spiritual transformation comes through the power of the gospel, the ministry of the Holy Spirit, and faithful obedience to God's Word. Therefore, we are committed to corporate prayer, worship in spirit and truth, dependence upon the Holy Spirit, biblical discipleship, lives marked by repentance and holiness, and the proclamation of the gospel. Through these convictions, we seek to cultivate a Christ-centered community that pursues God's presence, grows in spiritual maturity, walks in the power of the Spirit, and faithfully carries the message of Jesus Christ to the world.
Misson Statement
Encounter exists to lead a generation into a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ through prayer, Spirit-filled worship, biblical discipleship, and the power of the Holy Spirit. We seek to cultivate a community marked by deep reverence for the cross, passionate pursuit of God's presence, and bold commitment to the Great Commission. Our desire is to see young people throughout East Michigan transformed by the gospel, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and sent out as faithful ministers of Jesus Christ.
